Aimée de Jongh

Aimée de Jongh studies animation in Rotterdam. Her style is a mix of manga and the francobelgian school. She published her first work in 2004, when she participated in Fanthology, a contest for Dutch manga artists. Since then, she is a member of the dojinshi circle Cheesecake! Studio, through which she publishes her manga stories, like her 60-page comic 'Stillborn'. She gained further attention after being among the final contestants with her strip 'Osmond en ik' in the 2006 comics contest held by newspaper Het Parool.

She has drawn comics for Brabants Dagblad, the Sligro Food Group magazine Slim ('De Slimmeriken'), CJP Magazine, Aniway magazine ('Aimée TV'), the Flemish children's paper Kits ('Slimme Pim'), the youth newspaper 7Days ('Paralleia') and the smallpress comic magazine De Lijn.

Her semi-autobiographical 'Aimée TV' comics have been collected in a book by BeeDee in 2006. Additionally she teaches seminars in drawing manga, anime and comics. Since 2007 she is also making animations, from short movies to leaders.
